Hey everyone, Ally Love here. Since you’ve been asking me lots of questions about my post-workout skincare routine on Instagram, I thought it’s time I shared the secrets. Here’s the breakdown.
Should I use skincare before or after working out?
Both! I use Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser to effectively remove excess oil, pollution and any other skincare so they don’t settle into my pores when I begin to sweat - then I complete my workout barefaced. If I’m working out alfresco, I’ll apply a layer of Clean Screen SPF 30 which, thanks to it’s Zinc-Oxide only formula, doesn’t ‘clog’ pores while providing non-sticky sun protection.
After, I’ll cleanse with Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel that has the added benefit of helping calm irritation (think friction caused from wiping away sweat) while removing water-based impurities like sweat itself. If I’m looking super-flushed, I’ll reach for Ultra-Comforting Rescue Mask to help calm and reduce the look of redness while rehydrating. Top tip: use this during your cool-down so you’re cooling down both your skin and body. After removing it I’ll use my fav moisturizer - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream - to boost skin brightness, with a fresh, lightweight texture.
How do you keep your skin feeling energized after working out?
As a Miami girl, I’m always searching for ultra-bright, energized-looking skin even if I’m feeling post-workout fatigue. Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic is my go-to here. It’s *that* hero, the desert-island product for me. But, can we also talk about the Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream?! With a brightening no-exfoliation formula and a summer-ready scent, it’s so so good.
How do you keep motivated to do daily workouts?
My motto has always been “It’s not about perfection, it’s about progress.”
What's your skincare regimen after working out?
- I always start with Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser to remove makeup, SPF and pollution – I don’t want any of that settling into my pores, especially as I wear makeup for filming workouts.
- Then I go in for a double cleanse with Evercalm Gel Cleanser. This removes light surface impurities & sweat that has been expressed through pores.
- I then cool off with a good stretch and cooldown, while wearing the Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask. This calms my redness after working out and soothes it for the day or night ahead.
- After I’ve removed the calming mask and I go straight for the Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream is brightening, hydrating and energizing!
